The Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Prosperidad strengthened the organizational capacity of the Prosperidad Coconut Farmers Cooperative (PROCOFACO) through the conduct of a Fundamentals of Cooperative Seminar, facilitated by the Municipal Cooperative Development Office (MCDO) under the leadership of MCDO-Designate Janet Maquiling.

The activity provided PROCOFACO members with essential knowledge on cooperative principles, member responsibilities, participation, accountability, and effective cooperative management. The seminar aimed to equip the cooperative with the necessary foundation to improve its operations, strengthen member engagement, and sustain its services to coconut farmers.

As part of its continuing efforts to empower farmers’ organizations, the MAO recognizes capacity building as an important component in developing strong, self-reliant, and sustainable agricultural cooperatives.
Through this initiative, the MAO continues to support PROCOFACO in strengthening its organization and enhancing its role in advancing the local coconut industry and improving the livelihood of farmers in Prosperidad.
