The Municipality of Prosperidad, through the Livestock and Poultry Section of the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), successfully organized a benchmarking activity on dog impounding facilities in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.

The activity was spearheaded by Municipal Agriculturist Marlita Cortez, in collaboration with Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) President Milo Urbiztondo, and was participated in by 32 barangay officials from the municipality.

The benchmarking activity aimed to provide local officials with practical insights on the proper establishment, management, and operation of a dog impounding facility. It also served as an opportunity to learn best practices that may be adopted in Prosperidad to strengthen responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, and rabies prevention efforts.

Through this initiative, the Municipality of Prosperidad continues to strengthen its commitment to improving animal health and welfare services and promoting safer and more responsible communities.
