As part of its continuing commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable tourism development, the Municipal Tourism Office of Prosperidad, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and CENRO Bayugan City, successfully conducted the Tugonan Falls Wetland Assessment Presentation on September 8, 2026, at Barangay San Lorenzo, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The initiative aims to establish baseline environmental data that will serve as a foundation for effective conservation planning, biodiversity protection, and sustainable tourism management. With the continuous growth in visitor arrivals, the assessment provides valuable information on the site’s environmental condition, water quality, accessibility, and ecological integrity.

These findings will help guide future tourism planning and development, ensuring that tourism activities remain responsible, environmentally sustainable, and beneficial to the local community and future generations.

Through the collaborative efforts of the Municipal Tourism Office, DENR, and CENRO Bayugan City, the Municipality of Prosperidad further strengthens its commitment to protecting its natural resources while advancing ecotourism that promotes a meaningful balance between environmental stewardship, tourism development, and community well-being.
