A total of 197 dogs and cats from Barangays Sta. Maria and Azpetia, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur received free rabies vaccination through the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) headed by Municipal Agriculturist Marlita Cortez, as part of its continuing efforts to prevent and control rabies and promote responsible pet ownership in the community.

Of the total, 102 dogs and cats from Barangay Sta. Maria and 95 from Barangay Azpetia were vaccinated, helping provide greater protection to household pets and the community against rabies.

Meanwhile, in Barangay Sta. Maria, 21 small and large ruminants also received free deworming treatment to help prevent parasitic infections, improve animal health, and support better livestock productivity.

These veterinary services demonstrate the MAO’s commitment to bringing accessible animal health services closer to farmers and pet owners while strengthening the municipality’s efforts in rabies prevention, livestock health, and responsible animal care.
