In a continuing effort to uphold public safety and promote a drug-free community, the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) convened their regular meetings under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Frederick Mark Mellana, who presided over the proceedings. Also present during the meeting was Vice Mayor Jesusimo L. Ronquillo, who serves as the Vice Chairperson of the MPOC, along with council members and representatives from partner agencies and offices.

During the MPOC meeting, the Philippine National Police (PNP) presented updates on the municipality’s anti-criminality efforts, highlighting the prevailing peace and order situation and measures undertaken to ensure the safety and security of the community. Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) provided updates on the implementation of anti-insurgency programs and initiatives geared toward sustaining peace and supporting development efforts. Member agencies and offices also shared their respective accomplishments and recommendations to further enhance inter-agency coordination and collaboration.

The Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) convened to discuss the status of anti-illegal drug abuse programs and interventions. The Philippine National Police (PNP) presented updates on the municipality’s anti-illegal drug campaign, while the MADAC focal person reported on the accomplishments and ongoing initiatives of the council. The Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) Focal Person likewise presented updates on rehabilitation and reintegration efforts for recovering persons who used drugs.
The member agencies and offices also presented their accomplishments and recommendations, underscoring the importance of sustained collaboration and a whole-of-government approach in addressing peace and order concerns and combating illegal drugs.

The conduct of the MPOC and MADAC meetings reaffirms the local government’s unwavering commitment to fostering a safe, secure, and resilient municipality through effective governance, strengthened collaboration, and the sustained implementation of peace and order and anti-illegal drug programs.
