The Municipality of Prosperidad, Province of Agusan del Sur, successfully conducted the reconstituting of the Municipal Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Coordinating Board as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen data-driven governance and evidence-based planning.
The activity brought together local government officials, department heads, and representatives from concerned offices to discuss the composition, functions, and responsibilities of the Coordinating Board pursuant to Republic Act No. 11315, otherwise known as the Community-Based Monitoring System Act.
During the activity, participants emphasized the importance of the CBMS as a tool for generating updated, reliable, and disaggregated data that will support local planning, policy formulation, program implementation, and resource allocation. Discussions also focused on enhancing inter-office coordination and ensuring the efficient management and utilization of CBMS-generated information.
The reconstituted Municipal CBMS Coordinating Board shall serve as the primary coordinating body responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, data management, validation, and utilization of CBMS data within the municipality. Through its strengthened structure, the Board aims to facilitate informed decision-making and improve the delivery of programs and services to the people of Prosperidad.
This undertaking underscores the Municipality’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsive governance. By strengthening its CBMS mechanisms, the local government continues to promote inclusive and sustainable development founded on accurate and reliable community-level data.
