As part of its continuing technical support to agricultural production, the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Prosperidad, in coordination with the Regional Crop Protection Center (RCPC), conducted a pest and disease surveillance activity at the Model Farm in Barangay Magkasama, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The activity focused on monitoring the health condition of crops, identifying possible pest and disease threats, and assessing potential risks that may affect farm productivity. Through regular field surveillance, the MAO ensures that emerging crop protection concerns are detected early and that appropriate technical recommendations and management interventions can be provided to farmers.

Representing the Municipal Agriculture Office, Rice Coordinator Mary Rose Felipe and Agricultural Technologist Rex A. Campano participated in the surveillance activity in behalf of Municipal Agriculturist Marlita Cortez. Their participation demonstrates the MAO’s commitment to providing hands-on technical assistance and strengthening crop protection services at the farm level.

The activity, conducted with the technical assistance of the RCPC, forms part of the MAO Prosperidad’s continuing efforts to promote healthy crops, minimize production losses, and improve farm productivity through timely monitoring and science-based agricultural interventions.
