The Municipal Population and Development Office (MPDO) and the Municipal Health Office (MHO) were invited to Prosperidad National High School to conduct a health education lecture for 130 Senior High School students.
Mr. Rico Layno of the Municipal Health Office discussed HIV/AIDS awareness, emphasizing prevention, early detection, and the importance of responsible health practices. Meanwhile, Ms. Icey Lim, R.N., Population Development Officer, delivered sessions on Teenage Pregnancy and SHAPE (Sexually Healthy and Personally Empowered Adolescents), highlighting the value of informed choices, self-protection, and personal empowerment among youth.
The activity was funded through the Special Education Fund (SEF) headed by Maβam Jocelyn L. Menil, District Supervisor, in partnership with LGU-Prosperidad under the leadership of Mayor Frederick P. Mellana.
The initiative forms part of the continued effort to equip students with essential knowledge for their health, safety, and well-being.
