𝙼𝙰𝙾 𝙲𝚘𝚗𝚍𝚞𝚌𝚝𝚜 𝙰𝚂𝙵 𝙾𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙱𝚕𝚘𝚘𝚍 𝚂𝚊𝚖𝚙𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚒𝚗 𝙱𝚊𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚊𝚢 𝚂𝚊𝚗 𝙼𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚒𝚗

The Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Prosperidad, through its Livestock and Poultry Section, conducted an African Swine Fever (ASF) orientation and surveillance activity among local swine raisers yesterday, July 28, 2026, at Sitio Mikit, Barangay San Martin, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

As part of the disease surveillance activity, twelve (12) blood samples from swine were collected for laboratory analysis to help determine the ASF health status of the area and strengthen the municipality’s disease monitoring efforts.

The activity also included an orientation on ASF, focusing on disease awareness, prevention, early detection, proper reporting, and the importance of implementing strict biosecurity measures among swine raisers.
The activity was led by Livestock and Poultry Coordinator Rocelyn Dingal, in coordination with AT Janet Maquiling, Harold Tercepona, Junrey Moreno, barangay officials, and local swine raisers.

The initiative highlights the Municipal Agriculture Office’s commitment to protecting the local swine industry through strengthened disease surveillance, farmer education, and responsible livestock production.
