Prosperidad Conducts Traffic Count Survey to Strengthen Local Transport Planning
PROSPERIDAD, AGUSAN DEL SUR – The Municipality of Prosperidad conducted a Vehicular and Passenger Traffic Count Survey as part of its ongoing efforts to improve local transportation planning and road management. The activity is a key step in the preparation and enhancement of the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP), which serves as the foundation for an efficient, safe, and organized public transport system.
Monitoring stations were set up in three strategic locations: in front of the Municipal Hall, Crossing Talacogon, and Crossing Awa. Data gathering began at 6:00 AM and continued until 6:00 PM, covering peak and off-peak hours to ensure accurate and comprehensive traffic data collection.
Personnel assigned in the identified areas manually recorded the number and types of vehicles passing through, as well as passenger volume. The data collected will help determine traffic demand, identify congestion patterns, and assess the adequacy of existing transport routes and services.
The Traffic Count Survey is a vital component of the LPTRP as it provides evidence-based information needed to design appropriate transport routes, allocate units efficiently, and improve overall mobility within the municipality. Through this initiative, the local government aims to develop a more responsive and sustainable transportation system that meets the growing needs of Prosperidad’s residents.
Motorists and commuters who passed through the monitoring areas were assured that the activity was solely for planning and development purposes. The Municipal Government remains committed to implementing data-driven solutions to enhance road safety, reduce congestion, and promote more efficient travel for everyone in Prosperidad.
