Actual Conduct of Inland/Wetland Assessment of Tugonan Falls

The Municipal Tourism Office, in partnership with CENRO Bayugan City and DENR Caraga, successfully conducted the Actual Inland/Wetland Assessment of Tugonan Falls from July 8–10, 2026, at Barangay San Lorenzo, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

This three-day environmental assessment forms part of the municipality’s continuing commitment to conserving our natural resources while promoting responsible and sustainable ecotourism. The activity focused on gathering baseline environmental data through wetland characterization, biodiversity documentation, habitat assessment, and water quality evaluation. The information collected will provide valuable scientific references for conservation planning, environmental management, and the sustainable development of Tugonan Falls as an ecotourism destination.

More than an assessment, this initiative reflects our shared responsibility to preserve the ecological integrity of Tugonan Falls for the benefit of present and future generations. Through strong collaboration among government agencies and local stakeholders, we continue to work toward balancing environmental protection with sustainable tourism development.
