Barangays Complete AIP 2027 Workshop, Strengthening Local Development Planning

PROSPERIDAD, AGUSAN DEL SUR — Barangays of the municipality successfully completed the two-day “Planning Today, Investing For Tomorrow: Barangay AIP 2027 Workshop,” a capacity-building initiative aimed at strengthening local development planning and budgeting processes at the barangay level.

Conducted in two batches, the workshop gathered barangay officials and planning teams in a collaborative learning environment designed to enhance their ability to prepare responsive and strategic Annual Investment Programs (AIP) for 2027.

The activity featured key resource speakers namely: sir Jorem J. Luzon, MLGOO VI, Engr. Ludelio S. Paray MPDC, Ma’am Lucille L. Ytac, Municipal Budget Officer, and partners from SSBO (Sir Zaldy M. Chua and Sir Anastacio Rivas III). Discussions focused on the legal framework and preparation timeline of the Barangay AIP, the review and evaluation process, and a simplified guide to budget appropriation.

Participants were also guided through the technical aspects of planning, including aligning proposed programs with policies and ensuring compliance with established guidelines. The sessions on review processes and budgeting further equipped barangays with practical tools to translate plans into implementable and fundable programs.

The successful completion of the workshop marks a significant step toward enhancing grassroots governance, ensuring that development plans are not only compliant but also inclusive, strategic, and results-oriented. With strengthened planning capacities, the municipality looks forward to more responsive and impactful programs that will benefit communities in the years ahead—proving that planning today is truly an investment for tomorrow.
