Conduct of the Reconnaissance Activity in Tugonan Falls

Mabuhay!

The Municipal Tourism Office, in partnership with CENRO Bayugan City, successfully conducted its preparatory activities, including a reconnaissance survey and site pre-assessment, on July 7, 2026, at Tugonan Falls, Barangay San Lorenzo, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

This initiative aims to establish baseline environmental information essential for conservation planning and sustainable tourism management. It also seeks to assess the site’s accessibility and current conditions in response to the increasing number of visitors, ensuring that future tourism development remains responsible, environmentally sustainable, and beneficial to local communities.

As part of the initiative, a series of preparatory activities—including reconnaissance surveys, coordination meetings, environmental awareness activities, and a detailed wetland assessment—will be conducted during the third quarter of CY 2026. These activities aim to validate existing site conditions and generate baseline data on the area’s environmental attributes and biodiversity resources.

The information gathered will serve as the foundation for subsequent environmental assessments and will support the formulation of appropriate conservation measures, site management plans, and sustainable ecotourism strategies for Tugonan Falls.
