Coordination Meeting for the Wetland Assessment in Tugonan Falls

As part of its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable tourism development, the Municipal Tourism Office, in partnership with DENR and CENRO Bayugan City, successfully conducted a Coordination Meeting today, July 7, 2026, in preparation for the upcoming Wetland Assessment and Water Quality Testing at Tugonan Falls, Barangay San Lorenzo, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

This initiative aims to establish baseline environmental data that will serve as the foundation for conservation planning, biodiversity protection, and sustainable tourism management. As visitor arrivals continue to increase, the assessment will evaluate the site’s current environmental condition, water quality, accessibility, and ecological integrity to ensure that future tourism development is responsible, environmentally sustainable, and beneficial to both the local community and future generations.

Through the collaborative efforts of the Municipal Tourism Office, DENR, and CENRO Bayugan City, this initiative reinforces the shared commitment to protecting Prosperidad’s natural resources while promoting ecotourism that balances environmental stewardship with community development.
