DA-CSO Secretariat Conducts Onsite Ocular Validation

The Department of Agriculture–Civil Society Organization (DA-CSO) Secretariat conducted an onsite ocular validation at the Aurora Lucena La Union (ALLa) Irrigators Association, Inc. as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen and validate farmers’ organizations eligible for government programs and support services.

The activity was assisted by Agricultural Technologist Pandiling of the Municipal Agriculture Office of Prosperidad, under the leadership of Municipal Agriculturist Marlita Cortez, who facilitated the coordination and provided technical assistance throughout the validation process.

During the visit, the DA-CSO Secretariat assessed the association’s organizational records, operational status, governance, and compliance with the requirements set by the Department of Agriculture. The validation also served as an opportunity to engage with the association’s officers and members, discuss their current initiatives, and identify areas where additional government assistance and capacity-building interventions may be provided.

This activity highlights the commitment of the Department of Agriculture and the Local Government Unit of Prosperidad to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance among farmers’ organizations.

Through continuous monitoring and validation, qualified organizations are better positioned to access agricultural programs, resources, and development opportunities that contribute to improved productivity and sustainable livelihoods for local farmers.
