Day 4 Afternoon: Tax IEC Continues at Barangay Sta. Maria

STA. MARIA, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur – The Municipal Treasury Office (MTO) continued Day 4 of its Tax Information and Education Campaign (Tax IEC) with an afternoon session at Barangay Sta. Maria, focusing on Real Property Tax (RPT), Business Taxation, and tax compliance.

During the session, the MTO presented Barangay Sta. Maria’s RPT collection performance. Against the 2026 target collectible of ₱821,364.60, collections from January to July reached ₱937,471.96, exceeding the target by ₱116,107.36.

The presentation also highlighted the direct benefit of RPT collections to the barangay. From the RPT Basic Share of ₱468,735.98, Barangay Sta. Maria’s 25% share amounts to ₱117,184.00.

The discussion on Business Taxation emphasized proper business registration, timely payment of taxes, and compliance with local requirements. Through the campaign, the MTO continues to promote tax awareness, transparency, and responsible tax compliance while highlighting the important role of local revenues in community development.
