Day 4: Tax IEC Reaches Barangay Sta. Irene

STA. IRENE, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur – The Municipal Treasury Office (MTO) continued its Tax Information and Education Campaign (Tax IEC) on Day 4, conducting its morning session at Barangay Sta. Irene.

The session covered key topics on Real Property Tax (RPT) and Business Taxation, providing participants with important information on tax obligations, payment compliance, and the role of local taxes in supporting government programs and services.

The MTO also presented Barangay Sta. Irene’s 2026 RPT target collectible of ₱1,461,454.60. From January to July 2026, collections reached ₱898,694.84, leaving a balance of ₱562,759.76. From the RPT Basic Share of ₱449,347.42, Barangay Sta. Irene’s 25% share amounts to ₱112,336.86.

The discussion on Business Taxation likewise emphasized the importance of proper business registration, timely payment of business taxes, and compliance with local tax requirements.

Through the Tax IEC, the MTO continues to strengthen tax awareness, transparency, and voluntary compliance, while highlighting how tax revenues directly contribute to the development of Barangay Sta. Irene and the Municipality of Prosperidad.
