Farmers Receive Technical Briefing for 250-Hectare Drone Services

Farmer-member beneficiaries of the agricultural drone services attended a technical briefing today conducted by personnel from the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office XIII at the AgSur MAGKASAMA Irrigators Association, Inc. Hall. On behalf of Municipal Agriculturist Marlita Cortez, Rice Coordinator Mary Rose Felipe represented the Municipal Agriculture Office during the activity.

The beneficiaries include the 100-hectare Hybrid Rice Demo Farm of the AgSur MAGKASAMA Irrigators Association and an additional 150 hectares from participating farmer associations, covering a total of 250 hectares.

Under the program, agricultural drone services will be provided for rice seeding, crop spraying, and fertilizer broadcasting. The assistance is valued at ₱8,000.00 per hectare, with a total project allocation of ₱2,000,000.00.

The technical briefing equipped the farmer-beneficiaries with the necessary knowledge on the proper implementation of drone-assisted farming operations, supporting the adoption of modern agricultural technologies to enhance farm productivity, improve operational efficiency, and promote sustainable rice production.
