FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERY FAMILY: “BANTAY KARNE ORDINANCE” NOW IMPLEMENTED IN ALL 32 BARANGAYS OF PROSPERIDAD!

Ensuring that the meat brought to our family tables is safe, clean, and properly inspected is our top priority! The Municipal Government of Prosperidad, under the leadership of Mayor Frederick Mark P. Mellana and the 20th Sangguniang Bayan Members, enacts Municipal Ordinance No. 275, Series of 2026, also known as the “Bantay Karne Ordinance of Prosperidad. This ordinance aims to eradicate the sale and distribution of “Hot Meat” derived from animals slaughtered outside accredited slaughterhouses or without undergoing proper ante-mortem and post-mortem inspections by authorized Meat Inspectors.

Under this ordinance, a “Barangay Bantay Karne Team” will be established across all 32 barangays. Strict monitoring and regular inspections will be conducted across public markets, meat shops, and transport vehicles. Anyone caught selling uninspected, contaminated, or illegally slaughtered meat will face strict penalties ranging from ₱1,500 to ₱2,500 in fines, confiscation of products, community service, and potential suspension or revocation of their Mayor’s Permit for repeated violations.

Be a responsible vendor and a vigilant consumer! If you notice suspicious or uncertified meat products being sold in your area, report them immediately to your Barangay Bantay Karne Team or the Municipal Economic Enterprise Office.
