Iwas-Multa, Iwas-Kumpiska! know the regulated 2.5-Kilometer Zone around Prosperidad Public Market

The 20th Sangguniang Bayan of Prosperidad has enacted Municipal Ordinance No. 274, Series of 2026, also known as the “Prosperidad Public Market Perimeter Regulation Ordinance of 2026.”

This new ordinance strictly prohibits the selling, displaying, or peddling of agricultural and fishery products, including fresh fruits, vegetables, livestock, and fresh, frozen, or dried fish, along all roadsides, sidewalks, alleys, and terminals within the designated 2.5-kilometer radius from the Public Market perimeter. While it establishes designated trading areas and continues to permit officially sanctioned farmer markets and trade fairs, individuals or entities found in violation of these regulations will face penalties.

PENALTIES (Section 12)
• First-time offenders will receive a written warning and the immediate removal of their products
• Second and third offenses incur increasing fines, from PHP 1,500.00 to PHP 2,000.00, and potentially the confiscation of goods or suspension of vending permits.

The measure aims to address the growing issues of traffic congestion, sidewalk obstructions, and public health concerns caused by unregulated selling, ensuring an orderly and sanitary market system for everyone while supporting legitimate, fee-paying vendors.
