The Municipality of Prosperidad held its 1st Quarterly Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) joint meeting at the Municipal Conference Hall, on January 10, 2024.
The MPOC and MADAC joint meeting convene for regular quarterly meetings as presided by Municipal Administrator Richel Tumulak on behalf of MPOC and MADAC Chairperson Mayor Frederick P. Mellana . The MPOC is one of the local special bodies required under RA 7160, or the Local Government Code of 1991.
The meeting was attended by the council specifically Plt. Col Wilson Corpuz , COP-Prosperidad MPS, 1Lt. Mark Anthony Canoy 8th SF Company on behalf of Cpt. Carmelo Enolva Jr., SFO1 Jonard Cortez from BFP on behalf of Insp. Bomen Lofranco, IA V Jenalyn Tan from PDEA-ADSPO, Sir Patrick Tolentino, BKD Adviser from Azpetia National High School SSLG, BKD, and Yes-O Family, Maam Margie Luna Juanite, OIC SURE Program, Sir Luth Edmund Apresto, MLGOO, Aubrey Pepito, CBDRP focal and Icey Mercado Lim, MADAC Focal who presented their reports and accomplishments, and discussed issues and concerns on peace and order, public safety and anti-drug prevention initiatives in the municipality.
In view of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular No. 2019-143, Series of 2019 entitled βGuidelines for Peace and Order Councils (POCs)β, all POCs in every level (regional, provincial, city, municipal and barangay level) shall conduct regular meetings to ensure the effective and efficient performance to the implementation of programs, projects, and activities aimed to curb anti-criminality, anti-insurgency, and anti-illegal drugs to ensure peace and order and public safety.
