LGU Prosperidad Reminds Taxpayers: RPVARA Real Property Tax Amnesty Deadline

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – The Municipal Treasury Office (MTO) of the Municipality of Prosperidad announces the extension of the deadline for the Real Property Tax Amnesty under Republic Act No. 12001, otherwise known as the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act (RPVARA).

Originally set to end on July 5, 2026, the deadline has been extended to Monday, July 6, 2026, since July 5 falls on a Sunday, giving taxpayers one additional business day to avail of the amnesty program.

The Real Property Tax Amnesty allows qualified taxpayers with delinquent real property taxes to settle their outstanding obligations without penalties, interest, and surcharges, in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act No. 12001. The program provides property owners with an opportunity to update their tax records, restore compliance, and contribute to the municipality’s continued growth and development.

The Office strongly encourages all eligible taxpayers to take advantage of this final extension and complete their payments on or before July 6, 2026. Taxpayers are advised not to wait until the last minute to avoid long queues and ensure the timely processing of their transactions.

The Municipal Treasury Office remains committed to providing efficient, transparent, and responsive public service while encouraging voluntary tax compliance among property owners.
