MHO Prosperidad Brings Essential Health Services to PDLs Through ‘Care Beyond Bars’ Initiative

The Municipal Health Office of Prosperidad joined the Provincial Correctional and Security Management Office (PCSMO) of Agusan del Sur in the two-day Health and Wellness Bazaar held on August 4-5, 2026, under the theme “Care Beyond Bars.” The activity gathered government agencies and healthcare partners to provide accessible and comprehensive health services to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). Led by Dr. Niño Llacuna, DTTB, under the supervision of Municipal Health Officer Dr. Fritzie Marie L. Jala, the MHO team conducted medical consultations, while the PhilHealth team facilitated member registration. Participants also benefited from dental services, HIV testing, mental health awareness sessions, STI education, and YAKAP Gamot services through Trust Med.

The initiative highlighted the value of collaboration in ensuring that quality healthcare reaches even the most underserved sectors of society. By taking part in the Health and Wellness Bazaar, MHO Prosperidad reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive public health, recognizing that every individual deserves access to essential healthcare services regardless of circumstance.
