MLPCC Convenes for 1st Quarter Meeting; Focuses on Price Stability and Palarong Pambansa Readiness

The Municipal Local Price Monitoring Coordinating Council (MLPCC) officially convened for its 1st Quarter Meeting on February 12, 2026, at the Municipal Conference Hall.

The meeting brought local efforts in line with national standards, especially as the community prepares for upcoming large-scale events.
The council tackled a comprehensive agenda designed to address both routine monitoring and special event requirements:

• Inter-Agency Price Updates: Representatives from the DTI and the MAO provided critical data on the current price trends of necessities and prime commodities. This collective reporting ensures that no food sector is overlooked.
• Consumer Rights & Regulatory Compliance: The council reviewed new Issuances and Memorandum Orders. These updates are vital for local enforcement, ensuring that businesses remain compliant with the latest national policies regarding consumer protection.
• Localized Reporting: Representatives from presented by the MAO, MENRO, MHO, and Municipal Tourism Office presented their findings alongside other locally based agencies. These insights focused on the “ground-level” availability of goods and the stability of local supply chains.
• Palarong Pambansa Preparations: A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the Palarong Pambansa Price Monitoring Activity. With the influx of athletes and visitors expected, the MLPCC is prioritizing the prevention of “price surging” and ensuring that local vendors provide fair pricing during the national sporting event.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to heightened surveillance in public markets and retail stores. By coordinating with various national agencies, the MLPCC aims to create a transparent marketplace where consumers are protected from hoarding and profiteering.
