MONITORING OF FUEL AND LPG RETAIL OUTLETS AMID OIL PRICE INCREASES

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – June 24, 2026 – In compliance with the Joint Advisory issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Energy (DOE), a joint monitoring and inspection of fuel stations and LPG retail outlets was conducted in the Municipality of Prosperidad on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

The activity was spearheaded by the Municipal Treasury Office (MTO), with the participation of representatives from the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), and the Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC).

The monitoring aimed to verify the prevailing prices of petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), ensure compliance with existing laws and regulations, and protect consumers from possible unreasonable price increases amid the continuous adjustments in oil prices. The inspection team also checked the validity of business permits, safety requirements, and operational standards of the establishments.

During the activity, the team visited fuel stations and LPG retail outlets within the municipality, gathered relevant data on fuel and LPG prices, and coordinated with business operators regarding compliance with government regulations. The information collected will serve as reference for monitoring price movements and ensuring transparency in the local market.

This weekly monitoring activity, demonstrates the Local Government Unit of Prosperidad’s commitment to consumer protection, fair business practices, public safety, and effective implementation of national government policies at the local level.
