Municipal Treasury Office Brings Tax Education Campaign to Barangay San Rafael

The Municipal Treasury Office (MTO) of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur conducted Day 1 of the Tax Information and Education Campaign on Real Property Tax (RPT) and Business Tax at Barangay San Rafael, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, during the morning session.

The activity was warmly welcomed by Punong Barangay Romulo Batilaran, who expressed his support for the initiative aimed at promoting greater awareness and understanding of local tax obligations among residents and business owners.

As part of the campaign, the MTO presented the Real Property Tax collection status of Barangay San Rafael for January to July 2026. The barangay recorded a 2026 target collectible of ₱714,247.40, of which ₱487,847.04 had already been collected, leaving a balance collectible of ₱226,400.36. The presentation also showed an RPT Basic Share of ₱243,923.52, with the Barangay Share (25% of Basic Share) amounting to ₱60,980.88.

These figures were presented to provide taxpayers and barangay officials with a clearer understanding of the importance of timely tax payments and their direct contribution to local government revenues and community development.

The campaign also provided an opportunity for residents and business owners to raise questions and clarify concerns regarding RPT and Business Tax, including their tax obligations, payment procedures, applicable deadlines, and the importance of compliance.

Through this initiative, the Municipal Treasury Office of Prosperidad continues to bring tax information closer to the community, promote taxpayer education and transparency, and encourage timely tax payment to support the delivery of essential government services and development programs in the municipality.
