Prosperidad Earns First-Ever Green Banner Seal, Marks Milestone in Nutrition Governance

The Municipality of Prosperidad achieved a historic milestone after receiving its first-ever Green Banner Seal of Compliance during the Provincial Nutrition Awarding Ceremony held on July 29, 2026, at the Datu Lipus Makapandong Covered Court in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur. The recognition was conferred following the municipality’s successful performance in the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol (MELLPI Pro) conducted by the Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team on March 18, 2026. Prosperidad obtained an overall rating of 87.95%, exceeding the required 85% passing mark and officially qualifying for the prestigious Green Banner Award.

The municipality also garnered several individual recognitions during the awarding ceremony. Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Jocelyn C. Branzuela, RN, was named 2nd Place in the Search for Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, while Barangay Nutrition Scholar Leoneza D. Cinso received a Consolation Award in the Search for Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar. A household with malnourished child in Barangay Mabuhay likewise earned a Consolation Award in the Evaluation on Food and Sanitation. These recognitions reflect the consistent implementation of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions at both the municipal and barangay levels through the collective efforts of the Municipal Nutrition Committee, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, partner agencies, and local stakeholders.

For Prosperidad, the Green Banner Seal represents more than compliance with national nutrition standards, it signifies years of sustained collaboration, strengthened local governance, and a shared commitment to improving the nutritional well-being of every Prosperidadnon. Guided by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Fritzie Marie L. Jala, the Municipal Health Office-Nutrition Services, and with the steadfast support of Municipal Mayor Hon. Frederick P.
