Public Consultation Held for DPWH Infrastructure Projects in Barangays Napo and San Vicente

A public consultation for upcoming infrastructure projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) was successfully conducted with the participation of community stakeholders, local officials, and project representatives in Barangays Napo and San Vicente.

The consultation was led by Engr. Maynard Cagmat together with MPDSO Representative Engr. Aires Mae Alicante, who presented the details, scope, and expected benefits of the proposed DPWH projects to residents and barangay officials. The activity aimed to strengthen transparency, encourage community participation, and address concerns and recommendations from affected stakeholders prior to project implementation.

Also present during the consultation were the barangay officials headed by Barangay Captain Hon. Christopher A. Gomez of Barangay Napo and Barangay Captain Hon. Edna A. Purgatorio of Barangay San Vicente. Both barangay leaders expressed their support for the projects and emphasized the importance of collaboration between government agencies and the community to ensure the successful implementation of infrastructure developments.

During the discussion, residents were given the opportunity to raise questions, clarify project-related concerns, and provide suggestions regarding the planned improvements. Officials assured the public that the projects are designed to enhance accessibility, safety, and overall public service delivery within the barangays.

Engr. Cagmat highlighted the significance of public consultation as part of the government’s commitment to inclusive and people-centered development. Meanwhile, Engr. Alicante reiterated that community feedback plays a vital role in ensuring that infrastructure projects effectively respond to the actual needs of the residents.

The activity concluded with a collective commitment among stakeholders to support the realization of the DPWH projects for the continued progress and development of Barangays Napo and San Vicente.
