Real Property Tax (RPT): Pay Early, Save More, Invest in Prosperidad’s Future

Paying your Real Property Tax (RPT) on time is more than just complying with the law—it is an investment in the continued growth and development of the Municipality of Prosperidad. Every tax payment helps fund essential public services and infrastructure that benefit every resident.

The Municipal Treasury Office reminds all real property owners to pay their Real Property Tax (RPT) on or before the prescribed due dates. Taxpayers who pay the annual tax in full during the month of January may enjoy a 20% Advance Payment Discount, while those who pay on or before the quarterly due dates may qualify for a 10% Prompt Payment Discount, subject to existing local ordinances.

Quarterly Payment Schedule:
1st Quarter: On or before March 31
2nd Quarter: On or before June 30
3rd Quarter: On or before September 30
4th Quarter: On or before December 31

Failure to pay on time may result in a 2% monthly interest on the unpaid tax. Moreover, if the tax remains unpaid for one (1) year, the property may become subject to levy and public auction, as provided under the Local Government Code. Paying on time helps property owners avoid additional charges and protects them from unnecessary legal consequences.

Every Real Property Tax payment directly supports the growth and development of the Municipality of Prosperidad. The Basic Real Property Tax is distributed as follows: 40% to the Municipality, 35% to the Province, and 25% to the Barangay where the property is located. These funds are used to finance essential government services and development programs, including the construction and maintenance of roads and bridges, improvement of public schools, delivery of healthcare services, disaster preparedness, environmental protection, peace and order initiatives, and other community projects that benefit every Prosperidadnon.
