Strengthening Partnership Between the MTO and Barangays

The Municipal Treasury Office (MTO) of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur continued to strengthen its partnership with the barangays through the Tax Information and Education Campaign (Tax IEC) on Real Property Tax (RPT) and Business Tax, with Barangay Lucena as one of the campaign’s participating communities.

The activity was warmly welcomed by Punong Barangay Narcisa P. Gimoto, together with Barangay Treasurer Jenily Lomotos and the Barangay Council of Barangay Lucena, who showed their support for the MTO’s efforts to bring tax information closer to the community.

The collaboration provided residents, property owners, and business owners with an opportunity to better understand their tax obligations, payment procedures, deadlines, and the importance of timely compliance. It also allowed taxpayers to raise questions and clarify concerns regarding RPT and Business Tax.

The active participation of barangay officials highlights the importance of strong cooperation between the MTO and the barangays in promoting taxpayer awareness, transparency, and compliance.
